Head and neck cancers constitute a real challenge for oncologists across the globe. The incidence of oral cancer remains high in both Asian and Western countries. Several risk factors associated with development of oral cancer are now well-known, including tobacco chewing, smoking, and alcohol consumption. It is is one of the most common cause of morbidity and mortality, however, approximately >10 million newly diagnosed and >6 million deaths occur each year due to cancer. Oral cancer is the sixth most common cancer in the world.
