A Chandmala is associated deeply with the Durga Puja & Lakshmi Puja. The deities, during the Puja, are adorned with these Chandmalas, by hanging them from the deities hands. Each Chandmala usually comprises three disks, attached with strings and with hanging decorations at the end.
