The traditional Assamese Gamusa is one of the most recognisable cultural symbols of Assam. It is a rectangular piece of cloth with borders. While most Gamusas are made of cotton, few utilized in special occassions are made from Silk too. While it has lot of uses, it is mostly used as an article presented to guests, elders, family or friends on special occassions as a sign of respect. This Gamusa is woven by the SHG member of Barebarania CLF. It is a very light weighted and orange coloured Gamus specially used by the tribal people of Assam. Price is very reasonable and also in demand as it is good to use during summer season as the material is cotton.
