Kalamata olive oil is named on city of Kalamata, Greece. Kalamata olive oil is prepared from naturally black olives which are one of the most economically important Greek varieties. These olive are catalogued as drupes with fleshy pulp and central pit. This oil is also classified as a strong flavoured and aromatic oil. The Kalamata virgin oil is produced only by using the best quality of olives and it has PDO(Protected Designation of Origin). Compared to other olive verities Kalamata oil has full fruitiness flavour, little bitterness and pungency.
