A Christmas Carol is a remarkable novel of Charles Dickens. Again, though much smaller in volume, it conveys its message patently well, along with providing entertainment of high order, both for the young and the old. The protagonist is Mr Ebenezer Scrooge, the master of a counting-house. He is a model of a rich man being exorbitantly miserly, narrowminded and utterly devoid of the spirit of sprightliness even on the day of a merry Christmas.
